Collect less. Explain clearly.
This draft reflects the product decisions for ProofPlace Canada. It must be reviewed by qualified Canadian counsel before public launch.
What we collect
- When you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, verified email address, display name, and optional profile photo.
- A secure sign-in cookie and limited request metadata used to protect your session and prevent abuse.
- Listings, listing photos and videos, saved items, reviews, messages, and reports connected to your ProofPlace account.
- Theme and recent-search preferences stored locally on your current device.
ProofPlace never receives your Google password. Your email address is not displayed publicly; a shortened display name may be shown with content you submit.
Evidence and sensitive information
Original evidence is private to authorized moderators. Public copies must mask banking details, ID numbers, signatures, passwords, and unrelated personal information. ProofPlace does not sell evidence or identity information.
Admin access
Authorized safety admins can open conversations for safety, support, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Each access records the admin, time, conversation, and reason. Support roles should see only reported conversations.
Retention and deletion
- Signing out removes the secure ProofPlace session cookie from the browser.
- Listings expire from public search after 30 days unless renewed.
- Deleted listings and their media leave public view and are removed from active storage.
- Deleted evidence and content are retained only for a defined dispute window, targeted at 30–90 days, then removed unless legally required.
- After account deletion, reviews may remain as “Deleted user”; active profile data and contact details are removed.
Your choices
Users can request access, correction, or deletion; remove saved searches; change public contact choices; and appeal moderation. Search history is limited to five recent entries and is never public.
